Sensitive Communications and the iPhone

sensitive communications

The Government has announced that Apple iPhone’s are not to be used for official sensitive communications until further notice.

The CESG, the UK Government’s National Technical Authority for Information Assurance, has declared the embargo advising that the Blackberry should be used for all official sensitive communications instead.

A report by the Telegraph claimed that information security experts have not approved their use because of the risk they might be vulnerable to hacking or other interference.

Ministers and staff have been advised instead to use Blackberry devices or other approved phones.
