Security Clearance

Please note that this role will require NPPV3 clearance in addition to National security clearance to SC level. Applicants MUST have been continuously resident in the United Kingdom for the last 5 years. If you do not hold an active SC clearance, please familiarise yourself with the vetting process before applying.

The Role

We are delighted to be recruiting an IT Cyber Support Technician. Supporting our external customers, you’ll primarily be dealing with 1st and 2nd line support enquires (mainly M365 related) providing first time fixes, where possible, to agreed SLA’s.

This role will also assist our Cyber response team, for instance, carrying out vulnerability scans & remote consultancy, completing templated Cyber reports, deploying relevant agents. Place of Work

This role will be based at CYFOR, Benjarron House, Middleton, M24 1SW (United Kingdom) but may also require occasional travel to other places of work in line with roles and responsibilities.

Key Roles & Responsibilities


Performing a combination of, but not necessarily all or limited to, the following duties:

  • Responsibility for being the first point of contact on the IT Service Desk for internal and external clients
  • Liaison within the Tech delivery team
  • Responsibility for supporting and maintaining the clients IT infrastructure and for providing efficient desktop support to all business users
  • Provide application support to our external customers
  • Responsible for resolving any IT related faults quickly and efficiently
  • New Starters onboarding and Leavers administration
  • Asset management of equipment
  • Setting up and configuring new laptops, desktops and mobile devices
  • Reporting faults and maintaining logs on desktops and laptops
  • Creating and maintaining documentation of IT Infrastructure
  • Becoming an additional resource to the Cyber Support delivery team.

Experience, Knowledge and Requirements


The IT Helpdesk Support technician should meet all the following criteria:

  • Experience in 1st line support
  • Experienced in Office365 Administration
  • Experience with supporting customers over the phone and in-person
  • Experience in ticket management
  • Microsoft Windows 10/11
  • Microsoft Server 2012/2016/2019/2022
  • Azure AD & Active Directory and group policies and principles
  • DNS/DHCP Administration
  • Linux
  • Thin client technology
  • Networking hardware/software inc. patching of network hardware and phones
  • A keen interest in Cyber Security, Incident Management or Digital Forensics
